He works with for-profit companies and non-profits in advisory roles and board positions, as well as by coaching high impact leaders on their senior executive team. He is a respected leader with 35+ years of experience building and leading successful teams.

He has learned that leadership is a commitment to develop, grow and improve how you motivate, influence and inspire. A real leader is the catalyst of this strategy, maximizing the best possible outcomes. Marshall found success in his leadership commitment with the guidance of an executive coach–consultant. As a Senior Partner at Vantage Associates-West, Inc., he now provides that same level of guidance and coaching to executives and managers of companies focused on securing results through effective leadership.

Marshall has an extensive track record of overseeing, directing and influencing business development, general management, client relationships and marketing campaigns, talent development, strategic planning and change management efforts. His results include increased profitability, improved efficiencies, cost-savings and overall operational excellence.

Prior to joining Vantage Associates, Marshall served as President of Sequent Energy Management, one of the largest natural gas marketing companies in North America. In that role he evaluated and implemented strategies and was responsible for the oversight of all company operations, organizational management and company P&L. He successfully drove profitability during his tenure, achieving two of the company’s most profitable years over their 20-year history—including the most profitable year in the company’s history. He joined Sequent in 2002 and progressed through upper management, holding positions of Senior Vice President, Marketing and Vice President, Business Development.

Marshall is passionate about supporting the JDRF non-profit organization, the world’s leading charitable organization in the funding of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. He remains an impassioned volunteer focused on advancing the organization’s mission to prevent, treat and cure T1D. He has served on the Houston Chapter Board of Directors since 2009 and joined the National Global Mission Board in 2021.

He was recognized early in his career as a leader and has held roles as Manager, Executive, Leader and President over the course of 40+ years in the energy industry.
